                 BALANCED AND UNBALANCED FORCES


See the portrayal of a tug of war competition. Why doesn't the rope move to either side in fig 1. 1?
Isn't it due to the balanced force acting on the rope?

Formulate the definition of balanced and unbalanced force??
BALANCED FORCE : When two or more forces act on a body in opposite directions,  and if the resultant force is zero,  then the forces are balanced. In this case the body does not undergo any change in position.

UNBALANCED FORCE : When two or more forces act on a body in opposite directions, and if the resultant force is not equal to zero, the forces are said to be unbalanced. In this case the body undergoes change of position.

** Distinguish between balnced and unbalanced forces, and their effects through different activities.
